T-Zero: This is it!

Dear Passengers, please check your seat belts, turn on all your gadgets and choose the soundtrack for your trip. We are taking off right now!

It took us a little bit longer than we expected, but we enjoy the tension. The natural forces are always a wiser guide than the human and they helped us to be ready exactly today, the birthday of Sid Vicious, my grandmother, and me. So, there’s certainly a powerful energy guiding the launch of layabozi.

We talked about writing a mystic, unforgettable, branding, emotional “we love music” and ” we want much more and every time better music in Shanghai” first introductory post, but we decided in the end not to. It’s not that we don’t like to be mystic and unforgettable, but that much talking about ourselves is not our style – you can check that on our “about us,” eloquently written by our editor. We’d rather save it and just go for it and while we are doing it we hope to enjoy it, and that you’ll enjoy it too. Eventually we’ll see what comes out of this, if that makes any sense.

Anyhow … we love music AND Shanghai!

We Are...

Layabozi is a web magazine about music in Shanghai today, with a sprinkle of the extra-mural and a tart sassiness—without ever being cloying. We take our inspiration from the snack which is both exotic (to us) and down home, and from which we take our name: Spicy Duck Necks.
